Is It Normal to Not Have Your Life Figured Out at 18? 🫠

At 18, apparently you're supposed to know everything.

What degree you want.
What job you want.
Where you'll be in five years.

Meanwhile, you're in college trying to figure out what you're doing next week. 😭

We asked:

“Anyone else feel like we’re supposed to know life plans by 18 but I’m just winging it 🫠”

And 78 out of 98 people picked “Pure confusion 🎲”. Only 20 said they already had a plan.

The comments were honestly more relatable.

“career decisions at 18 feel criminal”

“bro my frontal lobe isn’t even ready 😭”

And then there's the feeling that “everyone [is] pretending confidence fr.”

We're expected to make decisions about careers and our entire future when most of us haven't even figured out what we actually want.

Your degree might change. Your career might change. Heck, the thing you were obsessed with at 18 might mean absolutely nothing to you at 23.

So maybe you don't need your entire life planned out right now.

Maybe you just need to figure out what's next.

Are you actually figuring life out, or are you just pretending you have a plan? 🫠
